Description:
This Road Runner was purchased by our dealership at the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction several years ago. Everyone knows that Barrett-Jackson only allows first-class cars at their auction. This car started life as a 6-cylinder Belvedere that has been lovingly recreated as a classic Road Runner. The car has a period-correct 383 with 4-speed manual and Hurst shifter. When we bought it at B-J the seller had installed a Six-Pack from a 440, which we found to be hard to keep in proper tune since it was not really for the 383. Sold we installed a correct intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrell. Now the car runs great, drives great. This car is completely straight, very clean, great paint and interior, and zero rust. Since purchased it has spent all of its time in our showroom except when driven occasionally. If you are looking for really solid 69 Road Runner without spending the money for a numbers-matching car, this is a great car that you can really have fun driving. We invite you to come see for yourself.

1969 PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER Fun Facts
In 1969, the Roadrunner convertible was available for the first time. The Super Commando 440 came out (6bbl). Front ends on the Satellite/Belvedere followed those of the Coronet. The Road Runner had a large "power bulge" with simulated vents on the forward corners. Stripes on the sides identified the engine size. Although the separate GTX model was dead, its name lingered as the 440 engine package for the Road Runner, whose engine selection ran from the 318 through the 340, 400 and 4 and 6 barrel 440s - all of which had lower power than in prior years due to cobbled-together emissions work and insurance concerns.
