Description:
This Escape is a huge contender in the small SUV class. Get tons of people and cargo space in a versatile, sharp package that will handle any end-of-the-driveway snowbanks and icy roads with ease. The Intelligent 4WD system featured on this Escape was a new and more advanced 4WD system that debuted in 2005. It is fully automatic and replaced the old Control Trac II system of prior years. It features greater traction in slippery conditions, increased vehicle stability, improved fuel economy, and smoother operation. The Escape is powered by the front wheels during the majority of your driving, but any loss of traction detected by the wheel sensors will engage the rear wheels via a fully computer-controlled clutch, so no driver interaction is required! Enjoy the peace of mind that you will always have the best traction on the road at all times. This system complemented with Ford’s 3.0L V6 Duratec engine and 4-wheel independent suspension, means you’re getting a superior and fuel efficient ride with superior off-road ability. This winter will be no problem for you! At Autofair Honda we believe that the key to our continued and future success is to offer only the highest quality pre-owned vehicles at prices that are affordable for everyone! Call or email us right away to secure this special internet pricing and to set up a time to take this vehicle for a test drive.

Car Facts 2007 FORD ESCAPE Fun Facts

The Ford Escape (designated U204) is a compact SUV sold by the automaker Ford Motor Company beginning in the 2001 model year and priced below the Ford Explorer. The Escape was sold in Europe as the Ford Maverick. It was jointly developed with Mazda, in which Ford owns a controlling interest, and was released simultaneously with the Mazda Tribute. A more upscale version, the Mercury Mariner, was introduced for Ford's Mercury marque in the 2005 model year. A hybrid version was released in 2004. It is built on the Ford CD2 platform, which is in turn based on the Mazda GF platform, which was used by the Mazda 626. In 2004, the Ford Escape Hybrid was released. This hybrid electric vehicle is 75% more fuel-efficient than the regular Escape according to Environmental Protection Agency tests and was the first sport utility vehicle available to the public with hybrid technology. In January 2006, at the Washington Auto Show, Ford showed a prototype for an Escape Hybrid that would allow E85 fuel to be used. In April, 2007 Ford announced it would recall nearly 500,000 Escape SUVs due to reported engine fires. Ford has said the fires did not cause personal injuries and the Escape hybrid was not effected.

A joint project between Ford and Mazda, the Ford Escape was identical to the Mazda Tribute.

An upscale version of the Ford Escape debuted in 2005 under the name Mercury Mariner.
