The 2007 BMW 530i includes several safety systems, enhanced performance features, and an expanded interior. The BMW 530i ranks highly in crash tests, in part because the driver's side has airbags which deploy from the forward-left and top-left. The passenger's seat is provided with a similar configuration. The back seat is protected by two optional airbags: one in the left door and one in the right door. The vehicle is equipped with an "SOS" button which, when pressed, will connect the user with a BMW call center. Earlier BMWs included a road assistance service which required the use of a telephone.
