Car Facts 2002 VOLVO V70 Fun Facts

The Volvo V70 is a mid-size station wagon. Stylized 4x4 versions of the V70 have been sold as the XC trim line and as the XC70 model. Over 80% of V70s are sold in Europe, one third in Sweden. The Volvo V70 has been the best selling car in Sweden for many years. The third V70 was officially unveiled by Volvo on 2 February 2007. The car was developed to be a slightly more up-market car than the previous model, but remains the same size. Despite this, rear-seat legroom is increased two centimetres and a revised tailgate design increases the load area volume by 55 litres. Many buyers select the V70 for its comprehensive array of safety features. For 2007, Volvo has made Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) standard. They join the list of standard Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) with side airbags and Inflatable Curtain (IC), Whiplash Protection Seating System (WHIPS), seat belts with pyrotechnic pretensioners in all seating positions, dual-stage front airbags (SRS), Volvo's safety cage construction and the ISO-FIX attachment for rearward-facing child safety seats.

The all-wheel-drive version of Volvo's V70 station wagon, new in 2002, was the Volvo 2.4T AWD.

The Volvo V70 station wagon was designed as a slimmer version of the S80 full-sized sedan.
