Bruce Anderson - 1999 Porsche Boxster VIN: WP0CA2987XU626288 While a Porsche Boxster is truly an extraordinary sports car, its story pales in comparison to that of the owner of this particular Boxster, the late Bruce Anderson. The celebrated author of the Porsche 911 Performance Handbook, PCA Senior Technical Advisor, part owner in a championship race team, and prolific writer for automotive magazines worldwide, Bruce was one of the most highly regarded experts in the Porsche world. he was considered a dear friend and will be sorely missed. In Feb-Mar of 1999 Bruce spec'd this Boxster, including the color combination and features, for a friend (Joel Reiser) based on what he would purchase. It was purchased from Carlsen Porsche Audi in Redwood City, CA. As it was going to live in Bruce's garage in Sunnyvale, it was registered in both Joel's and Bruce's names. The plan was for Bruce to use it as his daily driver, and Joel would take the car when he came out from New York to visit his west coast office. Joel only did that twice. Joel sold the Boxster to Bruce two years later in March of 2001. Bruce and Joel were originally going to make it an S but that never happened since Joel really rarely used the car. The factory hard top has only been off once when his dear wife, Stephanie, asked to experience it as a convertible. A little known fact about Bruce is that although he loved his old Speedster, he hated open cars and sunroofs.
