This head-turner's a real page-turner.

The Ford Edge has numerous luxuries including heated leather seats, panoramic sunroof, all power everything, loud thumping speakers, rear seating reclines, rear air conditioning, side airbags, and driver controls. You name it, it has it... all the convenience & entertainment you could ever want. Great for the modern mom; move over practical & boooring mini-van. Not to mention, the Edge boasts a sleek, rounded yet somewhat beefy body style. Big for a crossover, yet compact for an SUV. It's chic and sexy.     But that's as far as it goes. While your little ones may be safe with those "side airbags," they'll do nothing for them when your walking home. And even if those airbags could somehow manage to float you home as if a sort of magic carpet, they'd probably malfunction long beforehand (like everything else in the Edge). This vehicle has had more recalls, bulletins, & ranting owners on forums occur in its mere lifespan (released in 2007) than practically any other vehicle of its likeness. The transmission tends to slip, the AWD stops pulling, the potentiometers croak (memory settings), brakes drag, the cooling system corrodes, and a host of other issues in which I would develop  carpal tunnel (another reoccuring problem amongst owners of the Edge) from attempting to list off if I were to try. Not to mention the Edge is costly by comparison to fix. Try around $2200 for the AWD repair, $3500 for replacing a transmission, even the tires seem to run higher. The Edge is analogous to the cliched "attractive, crazy girl." Yeah, she's hot but not the kind you want to take home with you.

Ford Edge - KONA BLUE METALLIC

I have no cons. The Ford Edge is stylin. Have you driven one? Plenty of room for Golf clubs, vacation/camping. Since I could not afford to buy a Porsche Cayanne I had to settle for the next best thing ... Ford Edge. ;) KONA BLUUUUUUUUUUUE!

Corrective Action: Ford or Lincoln will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. The recall began August 25, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S16.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Defect: During deployment, if the air bag does not fully inflate or the cushion detaches, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Ford is recalling certain 2009 Ford Ranger, Edge, Fusion and Mustang, Lincoln MKX, MKZ and Zephyr and Mercury Milan vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" or "Zone B" above, Ford is recalling certain 2007-2008 Ford Ranger, Edge and Lincoln MKX, 2006-2008 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ, 2005-2008 Ford Mustang and 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Defect: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. Interim letters informing owners of the recall and that parts are not yet available began mailing March 1, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available.
