First Car

This is my first car and I love it. It is just the right size for me, I can take a couple friends or but the seats down and have plenty of room. Its also old enough that Im not extremely worried about it.

DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED

REGRET PURCHASING THIS 2004 FORD EXPLORER. I HAVE SPENT 5 YEARS PAYING 360 PAYMENTS TO HAVE IT ONLY END UP AS "JUNK". VERY UPSETTING AND DANGEROUS--PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED. PLEASE CONSIDER ME FOR A 'GOODWILL REPAIR'. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS AND PLEASE MAKE A DIFFERENCE. SAVE A LIFE.

my impression is that it is a great commuter.

what I like is that it rides smooth, brakes are smooth. power everything and it all works. great in snow and rain. the only thing I don't like is that its an suv. been more of a manual transmission CAR kind of guy.

Overall this is a good hardworking car.

I am selling my car simply because I need a 3rd row SUV. (remember, we are a large family) The gas mileage is not good but gets me where i need to go. Would never take it on a long trip ride.

Like the comfort and 4x4. Always started, even when it was 20 below. Cargo space is more than enough for what most would need. Plus, there is enough room to put all three of our childrens carseats into the back seat.

Description: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 F-150 and Explorer vehicles. Loose power seat adjuster pivot bolts may cause the front seat cushions to detach and not properly restrain the seat occupant in the event of a crash.
Defect: In the event of a crash, a seat occupant that is not properly restrained has an increased risk of injury.
Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tightness of the power seat track upper pivot link bolt, either applying threadlocker or replacing the lift link and hardware, free of charge. Interim letters are expected to go out January 15, 2018. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S40.

Description: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Explorer, Taurus and Police Interceptor Utility and Sedan vehicles. The steering gear heat shield fasteners may corrode, allowing the heat shield to detach.
Defect: If the heat shield detaches, the steering gear may overheat, increasing the steering effort required by the driver, especially at lower speeds, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners, and dealers to inspect and replace the heat shield fasteners as needed, free of charge. The recall began on September 13, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S23.
