Average Looker

The car had a great engine for a 4 cylinder engine. It was an easy daily driver which drove well in the snow with good tires. The paint chipped easily, and the body dented if someone touched it. I would recommend this vehicle for anyone who did not mind the looks over time.

Alright for a dd

Like a manual gives more spunk. It's ok on gas. These types of cars always say a 100,000 mile warranty I don't know how they stay in business I guess because that's only good for original owner and they get traded in quickly.

Out of all the cars and trucks that I have owned I would give this one 7 out of 10 on a scale the ga

I like the style of the car it looks nice, I love that I can flip my back seats down for more hauling space but the opening into the trunk is small and that makes the ins and outs hard so if your a gardener not a great choice. My biggest dislike is the passengers seat it sits very low, it should of been the same as the drives seat which is Great.

like it very much

Ride is a little too noisy at highway speeds but car handles well in emergency situations. The audio is very good and I love the Sirius/XM radio. Have had car for 7 yrs but have only put 37,000 on it. I did replace the original tires (which were OK ) but I wanted Michelin tires and they have been a very good ride.

Recall Notices

2013 Hyundai Elantra (8/2/2016)

Campaign Number: 16V574000
Component Name: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE LIGHT
Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
Description: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model 2013 Elantra vehicles manufactured December 1, 2012, to April 30, 2013. The brake pedal stopper pad can deteriorate allowing the brake light switch plunger to remain extended when the brake pedal is released.
Defect: If the brake light switch plunger does not retract as it should when the brake pedal is not being pressed, the brake lights may stay illuminated preventing accurate communication to following vehicles that the vehicle is slowing or stopping. Additionally, if the brake switch plunger is not retracted, then the transmission can be shifted out of PARK without depressing the brake pedal. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake pedal stopper pad with an improved part, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on September 30, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 146.

2017 Hyundai Elantra (4/21/2016)

Campaign Number: 16V232000
Component Name: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
Description: Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Sonata vehicles manufactured May 29, 2014 to February 11, 2016, 2017 Elantra vehicles manufactured January 12, 2016 to February 22, 2016, and one 2016 Sonata Hybrid vehicle manufactured October 15, 2015. In these vehicles, the driver's frontal air bag may be missing a chemical enhancer required for the second stage air bag deployment, resulting in the second stage not deploying in certain crashes. The primary stage will deploy as intended.
Defect: An air bag that does not inflate increases the risk of injury.
Corrective Action: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began on May 5,2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 144.

2012 Hyundai Elantra (12/23/2015)

Campaign Number: 15V871000
Component Name: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL
Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
Description: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Elantra vehicles manufactured October 29, 2010, to October 25, 2011. Due to an electronic stability control (ESC) sensor malfunction, the brakes for one or more wheels may be applied unexpectedly and the engine power may be reduced. These symptoms will be accompanied by illumination of the ESC indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.
Defect: If the one or more of the brakes are inappropriately applied, control of the vehicle may be lost, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will verify the proper operation of the ESC sensors, and update the ESC system's calibration, free of charge. The recall began June 6, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai's number for this recall is 137.

2011 Hyundai Elantra (10/7/2015)

Campaign Number: 15V629000
Component Name: SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:COIL SPRINGS
Manufacturer: Hyundai Motor America
Description: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011 Elantra vehicles manufactured November 12, 2010, to March 31, 2011, and Sonata vehicles manufactured December 11, 2009, to February 28, 2010, originally sold in, or currently registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. Road salt may corrode the front coil springs, possibly resulting in the coil springs fracturing.
Defect: If a front coil spring fractures, it may contact the tire, possibly puncturing it, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front coil springs, free of charge. Interim notifications were mailed on November 17, 2015. The recall began on January 6, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai's number for this recall is 133.
