Definitely Purpose Built, Nice little Work Truck With a Few Minor Imperfections.

The main reason this truck keeps running is because I have kept up on the maintenance, otherwise it would fall apart due to neglect. In other words, this truck is for the mechanically minded; not the faint of heart. I thought this Mazda B2500 was the same as a Ford Ranger; but, I have owned a Ford Ranger that lasted me over 225,000 miles and was still running when I sold it, it also was a four-wheel-drive which meant it was pretty much bullet proof. I can't say that about this Mazda, it is a lightweight; I get a little concerned when I hear a new noises and wonder what they are. Most often, they are just bolts that need to be tightening; I didn't have to do that to my Ford Ranger. Before I bought this truck, I thought, what the hey, its a ford too, why not give it a try? Well, I was wrong; if I had the money at the time, I would have bought a little more expensive truck like a Toyota or another Ford Ranger XLT; but, that is foresight, how was I to know this truck was going to cost me several thousands of dollars to keep it running? Well, now I know. Despite its set backs and downfalls, I will say that I am happy that this truck does start, gets me to and from work and to the grocery stores everyday with little to no problems, but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have a feeling it is going to be the clutch plate on the transmission. Have not seen any signs yet. Cross your fingers.
