Good town car, but not for long road trip.

Reliable, well laid out, and quiet, but I never enjoyed a long trip. I am of average height, but the driver seat is short and puts pressure on the back of my legs. Typically got 27 - 28 mpg all-around driving.

Japanese Jeep

Like the reliability of the engine and drive train. The roof rack is nice to tie things down. The windshield spray pump quit working a few years ago. the factory radio has the national wx service channels built into the system.

Caveat Emptor!

Memory seat is a joke! Interior so noisy the big bucks radio is a waste as you can't hear it at normal volume levels. Transmission lags and stalls randomly in low gear at critical merging times. Factory say this is normal, dealer says engineering defect, I say a serious safety hazard, wife says she won't ride in it for fear of being T-Boned!

Very good value for all the important fundamental needs I have for a car.

Like the styling, wished it and other cars didn't cost so much to own and operate.

Small and good quality

The Subaru Outback is a great car that gets good gas mileage, rides smooth, and provides reliable transportation. It virtually never breaks down. If only the seat wasn't concave.

Campaign Number: 17V026000
Component Name: AIR BAGS:PASSENGER SIDE FRONTAL
Manufacturer: Subaru of America, Inc.
Description: Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2005-2006 Baja, 2009 Forester, Legacy and Outback and 2006-2009 Impreza (including WRX and STI models) and Tribeca vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Defect: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Corrective Action: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger front air bag inflator, free of charge. Interim notices were mailed March 6, 2017 informing owners of the safety risk and the unavailability of remedy parts. Owners will receive a second notice when parts become available. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru's number for this recall is TKB-17.
