reliable

It's a great car to begin driving in because of it's size, gas mileage, and capabilities. Easy to manage on most roads, in all traffic, and upkeep is simple. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one for regular commuting, a small family, or for a teens first car.

Vary impressed and satisfied with thye overall experience

I really like the spaciousness and inside storeage compartments. I was dissapointed I couldn't hit the advertised MPG

least expensive, most reliable

The pros outweigh the cons--this would be the ideal college kid's car. Fuel economy is superb, and the car itself is low maintenance and very affordable.

adorable! and practical

This car gets good gas mileage, drives smoothly, and so far (i've had it for 3 years) has had no issues and required no work other than standard maintenance.

Just What I Wanted

If you're looking for a dependable, long-lasting vehicle which gets great gas mileage, the Toyota Yaris is for you. At the low end of Toyota's price scale, this gas-only engine gets about 35-40 miles per gallon on the freeway, making for a perfect no-frills commuter vehicle. And the feel is surprisingly solid for a sub-compact; you don't have the sensation of sitting on the ground you get in other small cars. Although not a sports car (the handling is not very good, especially at speed); the 2010 Yaris holds its own on the freeway. Merging accelaration is adequate. The odd things is that the instrument console is in the center of the dashboard. The major drawback is that the substantial feel of the car comes at a price...thick roof pillars which substantially cut down the visibility.

2015 Toyota Yaris (5/26/2016)

Campaign Number: 16V367000
Component Name: SUSPENSION:FRONT:SHOCK ABSORBER
Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Corporation
Description: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Yaris vehicles manufactured January 13, 2015, to February 27, 2015. The front strut mounting bearings can be damaged when a high load is applied to the strut, such as driving over a large bump.
Defect: A damaged strut mounting bearing may cause the strut rod to separate, causing a loss of vehicle stability and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the strut mounting bearings and, as necessary, replace the strut and front suspension support sub-assembly, free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices were mailed to owners July 12, 2016. The recall began on September 29, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is G0S.
