Excellent value and reliable car - I can't recall any.
Pros: Reliable and easy to repair
Cons: only con is she's getting tired and the mileage is increasing
If you want reliability... - ...get this car! Bought this car used in 2008 when it had 39,000 miles. Now has 78,000 and going strong. Have purchased new tires and then just oil and gas since. The Accord is just a great solid, safe, reliable car. If that excites you, then you're golden! It's not the most exciting car to look at, and it's not all that fun to drive, but you turn the key and it starts and you get to where you want to be...that makes for a great car in my opinion. It has decent power too which is nice. There's no reason we can't drive this car to 200,000 miles or more.
Why Did I Buy This Car? - Wanted a better car for the MPG's and thought a Hybrid was it. Was I ever wrong. Now have over 200k on it and the transmission has a noise coming from it and am told it has to be replaced, and they WON'T repair it! The ride is not the best and it never was Quiet to drive at all.
Favorites: Nothing special in this car at all. The hybrib motor maybe.
Suggestions: Need a better transmission for one and better ride.
After over 333,333 miles... - This is my third Honda Accord, and my accidentally best choice. Much more improved paint coating and rust protection. The car looks like new even now. Good acceleration in tough road situations. A fair 29-30 mpg, mostly on highways. Very comfortable seats. Superb ergonomics, which makes the car so appreciated during a long travel. The car is a nightmare for a car salesman or an example of an excellent workmanship.
Honda Lifer. Buy a Honda! - Purchased car new, now has 111,000mi w/no problems. It has plenty of room, as much if not more than a SUV & very comfortable for long travel w/plenty of leg room in front seats or back. We had twins after we bought the car & it fits both car seats w/a small amount of room for someone in the middle. When our family doubled I thought we would buy something bigger & safer but quickly found out we had already purchased the car that fits everything x2, and a safe car. It's a smooth ride & very quite w/great handling. We travel once a month to see our family about 130mi away. I've never gotten out of this car & felt like I'd been driving for 2hrs. I would only sell this car for another Honda!
Favorites: Comfort, room for cargo, and spacey for a family of four. Good gas mileage and great for long travel. Nice plush seating and great handling.
Suggestions: At night other cars flash their brights, acting as if I have my lights on, which sounds like a benefit but can be quite annoying and blinding after the first few times. It has a place in the back seat that allows you to get to the trunk but the seats don't fold down so if you're wanting anything out of the trunk it's impossible to get to it, if driving.
Excellent Value - I have now owned my Accord for 6 1/2 years. This was my first Honda and because of its value and reliability I have also purchased an Odyssey. My Accord doesn't have a "look at me" appearance but it has been trouble free for 53,000 miles. It gets 26 mpg in mixed driving and once got me 37.1 mpg on a 320 mile trip with the cruise set at 70 mph. I will definitely consider another one when I hand this one off to my nine year old when he gets his drivers license.
Favorites: Smooth 2.4L engine, gas mileage, reliability, value.
Suggestions: Styling of the car is somewhat plain. I'm not sure if I like the most recent model's "chunky" styling.
Never a Honda Again - It must not rain in Japan. Honda routes the air intake toward the bottom of the engine, resulting in sucking in water when driving through a not-that-deep accumulation of water in a road. Cost, $4,000 for a replacement engine. The driver's side window motor failed after four years. Cost, $600. The two oxygen sensors failed after five years. Cost, $500. Now there is a problem with the keyless entry/alarm, which won't lock and arm. All this on a car bought new and currently having 18,000 miles on it and 8,000 miles on the engine. Also, we only get maybe 16 or 17 mpg in town. Should have listened to my wife and bought another Toyota!
Suggestions: Build a car with a smarter air intake location (I was told by the insurance adjuster that this was a common insurance filing with Hondas and Acuras).
Great car very bad gas mileage - So far it's been a great car. Plenty of room. No major problems. Just recently the tires starting making a roaring sound. But over all a very nice riding car. Went to SC in it right after we purchased. Very nice ride. Not loving the gas mileage. Ever since I have had the car, I get 24 mpg. I think it being a Honda it should get way better then that.
Favorites: Dual control a/c. Heated seats I really love that. Plus the 6 cd changer.
Suggestions: Gas mileage for sure. Other then that I can't think of anything else.
Reliability & joy - I have driven this auto for 46,000 moles with most of it in town but have two trips of over 2,000 mile each time from here to Galvestan, Texas. On each trip to Galvestan I usually drove at 70-80 mph . The car holds road excellent and still has power to pass in excess of this speed when necessary. I had trouble with a humming noise while driving. Had installed a canceling kit which cost me $600 on August 2008. I've had no mechanical problems or body work done. I am keeping written evidence of purchases of gas for the past 12,000 miles and getting about 36 mpg on highway and 25-30 in town. I wish Honda still made Accord Hybrids. Over all I have not owned a better car than this one!
Favorites: Power, riding comfort, miles per gallon of gas and overall satisfaction of ownership.
Suggestions: Passenger electrical seat adjustment and back-up related noise activator and sight. Side mirror addition to eliminate blind spots.
Far below expectation - I bought the new from the dealer but did not buy extended warranty since I bought the Honda. The power steering was replaced at 30K miles and now the automatic transmission needs to be replaced at 45K miles. The dealer quoted $4000 for new transmission. Fuel Pump relay was replaced as part of the recall. This has been a real disappointment and this is my last Honda ever.
Suggestions: Warranty of 3 yr / 36000 miles is very bad. Should be at least 5 year 60K miles.
Rocket! Hidden Monster. - When people seek Hybrid, they want 40+MPG. This car will not give you that. What it gives you is the Legendary Honda reliability, no non- sense practicality, and utmost dynamic performance. My previous car was a BMW 325i, and aside from being FWD, the Accord performs up to par with the German Counterpart. Steering is tight, acceleration is quick, but cornering have to give it to BMW due to the RWD configuration. Only problem I had with the Honda was a Master Pwr Door lock module which was covered under warranty, and a check engine light on when I gun the accelerator. Dealership said it was a Hybrid sensor error with the electrical motor, it seems a software upgrade fixed that problem.
Favorites: Performance, Ergonomic, Efficiency, Reliability, Resale Value
Suggestions: Continuous AC during Hybrid mode, Auto Stick Transmission, Fold Down Backseat, Sunroof, MP3 connection. Auto Head Lights, Xenon Headlights,
05 Accord EX - Purchased my 05 Accord Ex with 60k and it now has 105k. Routine Maint with the an O2 sensor at about 98k. Very comfortable, nice styling, heated seats are great, dual climate control and front, side and rear airbags. Only complaint is the road noise on the highway. Great tire wear, and the exterior looks perfect- even at 105k. 4 cyl is not sluggish and keeps up fine.
Favorites: Leather, heated seats, dual climate control. No timing belt on 4 cyl.
Suggestions: Road Noise on Highway- power window switch broken on rear window.
2005 two door Honda Accord - Bought the 2005 Honda Accord about a week before Christmas in 2004. Ended up getting the car a little sooner than I wanted after someone pulled out in front of my Honda Civic. Anyway, it's the best car I've ever owned. If you give this car proper maintenance it will go! Has a very smooth ride especially on the open road. Even though it's a four cylinder it will run easily at 80 or 85mph. But I usually don't drive that fast. Gas mileage is supposed to be right around 31 to 35 mpg, but last summer took a round trip of 290 miles and wound up getting just over 39 mpg! Mind you I drove at or under 65. Good car, in future hope to buy another one.
Favorites: Can't really single anything out. Pretty much like the whole car.
Suggestions: Wish they could do something about brake dust on the rims. That stuff is hard to clean off!
Fun to drive but poor NVH - Got this car for 4 years now with 96,000 KM in the odometer. During warranty period, need to send back to the service center to change the cock-up alarm system and steering system. Annoyed with loud engine noise, wind noise and tyre noise. Also the suspension system is rather too firm for my liking. Road undulations, tyre and outside noise creep into the cabin. The overall NVH left much to be desired. Engine noise is so annoying that I have to add fuel additive to reduce noise. It helps, believe me. No qualm on the handling aspect. The fun factor somewhat offset the poor NVH and refinement, I guess.
Favorites: Smooth auto transmission. Sporty handling. Responsive steering. Adequate pick up but could be better. Large interior space.
Suggestions: Honda, please address the nagging NVH issues if you want to compete with the more refined Camry. Being sporty doesn't mean having to sacrifice COMFORT.
Great Value - Bought this car back in Dec of 04. Best value for my money hands down. car is up to 100K miles and drives like its brand new. all systems (electric, sound sun-roof, & leather) work beautify and never had a problem. Passengers and friends don't believe that I have 100K miles or that the car is 4 years old. I highly recommend this vehicle!
good ride - We bought this car as a traveling vehicle. It far exceeds the mileage ratings. We get from 30 to over 38 on the highway. We have been diagonally across the US, and back. The power of the four engine is amazing. It is comfortable and quiet on the highway. Incidentally, I don't slow for the hills, and most of our driving is at 75 mph speeds, and in a lot of elevation changes. I like the looks, but admit I like the taillight treatment of the 06 and later Accord. I also love the look of the instrument array.
Favorites: Mileage, power, quietness, comfort.
Standing the test of time - After 125,000 miles, I'm still happy. Bulletproof car, great mileage and ride. Feel confident behind the wheel at hwy speeds. Don't want to part with this car until at least 250,000 miles. Only negative is the brakes are too small, so the rotors warp faster than normal. Other than normal maintenance, only issue so far is a dead battery (which could be considered normal).
Favorites: Comfort, reliability, MPG
Suggestions: Larger brake rotors
2005 Honda Accord EXL V6 - I have only owned and operated this car for a week. My initial reaction is that this is one terrific car. It has the feel of a luxury car. It is solid, smooth, responsive, quiet and exudes quality. It is my second Honda and if the reliability experience with this car is similar to my first Honda, I will be one very satisfied Honda owner.
Favorites: Quality of the interior materials and the assembly quality and the fact that everything, that is all the accessories on this used Honda work as if the car is brand new.
Suggestions: Electronic stability control - I was disappointed to learn that this important safety feature was not available on this car. Not that one should ever have to use it, but it would be reassuring to know that it is ready to help.
Love My Honda - I purchased this car new in Oct. '04, love it! I've had it 4 years now and have had no mechanical problems other than having to replace a battery terminal, brakes twice, and working on my 2nd set of tires. No pause on acceleration, awesome zip. Ultra comfortable interior. Stereo is great. I will definitely be looking for a new Honda next year as I pass my down to the next child in line.
Favorites: Cushy seats, zippy to drive, feels real sporty.
Suggestions: Not very sound proof, hear more outside noise than I like. Plug in for cell phone charging turns off with the car - needs to stay on like all other cars so you can charge with car off.
Great car - I enjoy this car in every way. It is fuel efficient, but has enough power to pass, even at interstate speeds.
Favorites: roomy interior
Suggestions: More options for price
